National Pump Company spotlights API 610 vertical turbine solutions
National Pump Company (NPC) offers a comprehensive line of API 610 vertical turbine pumps designed for the rigorous requirements of the oil and gas industries.

The pumps are engineered to meet the requirements of the current edition of API 610 standards.

This allows NPC’s vertical turbine designed pumps to provide the reliability, hydraulic performance and maintainability required in critical service applications such as tank farms, pipeline booster stations, refineries and terminals.

NPC provides VS0 submersible, VS1 sump, and VS6 canned vertical turbine configurations. These pumps feature robust, vertically suspended bowl assemblies with precision-cast, hydraulically balanced impellers.

This design delivers high efficiency across a broad operating range while minimizing vibration and wear.

Heavy wall column pipe precision machined, flanged and registered column connections maintain precise shaft alignment, which translates into smoother operation, longer mechanical seal and bearing life, and reduced overall maintenance costs for end users. A rigid, API compliant fabricated discharge head provides stable support for the pump and driver to help ensure dependable performance.

The vertical turbine configuration allows installation in sumps, cans, or below-grade tanks, minimizing above-ground footprint and simplifying piping layouts, which is advantageous in space-constrained environments.

Multiple nozzle orientations and suction arrangements are available within API 610 guidelines. To handle the high axial thrust loads, typical in deep-set and high-head services, NPC incorporates API 610-type thrust bearings and shaft designs sized for long life at design load.
