Morrison Water Services has secured a place on a wastewater multiple supplier framework to deliver services that will help Thames Water meet its performance targets for pollution, flooding and blockages.
The firm, which is part of M Group Services’ Water Division, will be delivering reactive and planned complex works, responding 24/7 to resolve wastewater network failures, where replacement or repair is needed.
The framework covers sewer and rising main repairs, excavations, manhole repairs and replacement, flow management, asset mapping and CCTV sewer inspections and survey work. The framework has an estimated value of £17 million (€20 million) a year, split across five suppliers.
This new framework agreement cements a long-standing partnership between Morrison Water Services and Thames Water, build over more than 20 years. This award is for five years to 2027, with an option to extend each year for a further three years.
Kevin Parcell, Morrison Water Services contract director, said: “As the leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK, we are delighted to have been recognised by Thames Water for our ability to run complex engineering projects and their continued faith to deliver on their behalf.
“Thames Water has ambitious plans to continue modernising its network. They clear around 75,000 blockages from the sewers each year and are on a mission to prevent blockages and sewer flooding in homes and businesses. They have also made clear long-term commitments to protect and enhance the environment in their region.
“We look forward to using our extensive capability and commitment to innovation and sustainability to help Thames Water achieve their ambitions for the benefit of customers and the environment.”
