Mitsubishi Electric introduces anti-clogging pump control system for water, oil & gas

news item image
Mitsubishi Electric Automation has released FreeFlow, a pre-engineered and fully configurable pump control panel system aimed at improving energy efficiency, clog resistance and operational control for pumping applications across the water, wastewater, oil & gas and deep well irrigation sectors.
FreeFlow integrates Mitsubishi Electric’s advanced FR-F800 variable frequency drive (VFD) technology with auto-tuning features designed to minimise manual declogging and reduce energy consumption.
This system supports both single and dual drive configurations and is available in a range of standard industry power classes from 5 HP up to 250 HP.
A key feature of FreeFlow is its emphasis on digital control and visibility.
The panel includes a GT2500 Series human-machine interface (HMI) for system programming, data logging, diagnostics and troubleshooting, allowing operators to monitor pump performance in real time and act quickly on emerging issues.
In addition, an onboard FX5 PLC enables advanced pump control logic, such as automated switchover to standby units should the primary pump fail.
Mitsubishi Electric positions FreeFlow as an easily deployable solution to reduce downtime, extend equipment life and cut operational costs, particularly in sectors where clogging and inefficient pump control have traditionally hindered performance.
It represents a strategic step towards smarter, more resilient fluid handling infrastructure
