Innovative self-diagnosing centrifugal pump sets new benchmark for predictive maintenance

news item image
A new generation of intelligent centrifugal pumps has been launched by FlowDyn Systems, offering operators unprecedented visibility into pump performance and early-stage fault detection.
The FlowDyn Insight Series combines advanced vibration analytics, thermal monitoring and cloud-based diagnostics to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset lifespan.
At the heart of the technology is an integrated sensor suite mounted directly onto the pump housing. These sensors continuously analyse operational parameters, feeding data into FlowDyn’s proprietary machine-learning engine. The system is capable of identifying developing issues—such as bearing fatigue, shaft misalignment and cavitation—up to 30 days before they pose a risk to the wider process.
According to FlowDyn, customers trialling the system have reported maintenance cost reductions of up to 40%, due to the shift from reactive to predictive servicing.
The pump also includes an adaptive energy-management module that automatically adjusts motor speed to match real-time demand. This feature alone has demonstrated energy savings of between 8 and 12% in continuous-duty applications.
Designed for chemical processing, water treatment and food-grade environments, the Insight Series is built to IP67 standards and can be configured for ATEX zones. Remote access via a secure web portal allows engineers to monitor multiple assets across various sites without the need for manual inspection.
FlowDyn says the Insight Series will begin shipping to UK customers in the next quarter, with global rollout scheduled by year-end.
