FES marks 10-year GE Wellstream relationship with $300,000 contract win

FES International, a specialist in fluid transfer solutions, has won a contract worth $300,000 to supply stiffener connectors to contractor GE Wellstream.

FES has supplied 12 Diverless Bend Stiffener Connectors (DBSCs) to GE Wellstream for more than a decade. The product is one of the firm's most successful product lines, enabling efficient and safe installation of bend stiffeners on offshore deep sea drilling operations.

The DBSC units are to be used by oil and gas development and production company Enquest on the Kraken oil field, located on the UK Continental Shelf. They will enable the installation of subsea bend stiffeners without diver or ROV intervention, saving a substantial amount of time and cost.

Work is currently underway on the contract, which is expected to complete by the end of January 2015.

All assembly and testing of the product will be performed by FES International's UK-based team in Ashington, Northumberland.

Kraken is one of the biggest subsea heavy-oil field projects under development in the UK sector of the North Sea. The field lies at a water depth of 120m in the East Shetland basin, which is located 125km away from Noss.
