Emerson releases Anderson Greenwood Type 84 high-pressure relief valve for gas and hydrogen applications
Emerson has introduced the Anderson Greenwood Type 84 pressure-relief valve, engineered to deliver leak-tight performance at very high pressures for hydrogen storage, transport and refuelling systems as well as other critical gas service in petrochemical and energy sectors.
The press notice emphasises the valve’s zero-leakage sealing technology, robust spring and trim materials rated for hydrogen embrittlement resistance, and rigorous helium-leak testing during manufacture to ensure integrity at high-pressure duty.
Emerson positions the Type 84 as addressing growing demand for reliable overpressure protection in hydrogen-ready infrastructure and for gas-service equipment that must meet tighter safety and emissions requirements.
The company also points to digitalisation options for monitoring valve condition and set-point verification to support predictive maintenance and regulatory reporting.
Operators in petrochemical, refuelling and industrial gas applications are the primary audience for this launch.
