CRI Pumps opens up shop in China

Pump manufacturer CRI Pumps has become the first company of its kind from India to have a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary operating in China.

The subsidiary, CRI Pumps Shanghai, became operational this month and is intended for manufacturing and marketing a select range of high-end energy pumps as well as the company's flagship products.

CRI allegedly plans to invest about $6 million (€4 million) in China. The subsidiary, CRI's sixth, will mainly focus on industrial, mining, process industries, pressure boosting systems, building services segments and projects in the first phase, according to a company statement.
