Aalberts highlights range of Apollo API-607 fire-safe valves

Aalberts Integrated Piping Systems (IPS), a global leader in advanced integrated piping systems for the distribution and control of liquids and gases, has highlighted its Apollo Valves API 607 fire-safe valves.

The API 607 certification, developed by the American Petroleum Institute, is recognised worldwide as the leading fire-test standard for quarter-turn valves. Apollo fire-safe valves consistently demonstrate the ability to minimise leakage during and after fire exposure, ensuring containment, regulatory compliance and peace of mind.

Each API 607-certified valve within the product family is designed for situations in which non-metallic sealing elements, such as PTFE or elastomers, may be destroyed by extreme heat.

These valves employ robust secondary sealing mechanisms, including graphite seals and metal-to-metal contact, which automatically engage once the primary soft seats are compromised. This engineered redundancy preserves crucial system integrity and provides valuable response time in emergency situations.

The portfolio includes the 87A and 88A flanged ball valves, offered in stainless steel, carbon steel and speciality alloys, with sizes up to 12 inches.

These models feature advanced safety elements such as a blowout-proof stem, anti-static grounding, chevron-style adjustable stem seals and a two-position locking device for efficient operation.

Rated for up to 250 psi saturated steam, depending on class or option, these valves excel in applications involving natural gas, compressed air and steam service. With the -24 fire-safe option, they meet fifth- and sixth-edition API 607 standards.
