Two new fluoroelastomers from chemical company

International company AGC Chemicals has added two new lines of fluoroelastomers that it says can benefit moulded and extruded components used in extreme conditions such as heat, steam and corrosive materials.

The Aflas 100 and 150 series are copolymers of tetrafluoroethylene and propylene, a combination AGC says uses unique properties not found in conventional fluoroelastomers.

It also claims the Aflas products, when used in wire and cable coatings, engine seals, gaskets and other high-endurance components in a variety of industries, provide flexibility and toughness when used with polymer products and moulded parts.
