Sulzer launches new centrifugal pump

Swiss manufacturer Sulzer has announced the launch of a new centrifugal pump.

According to the company, its new CPE ANSI process pumps are specifically designed to ‘exceed the strictest energy regulations’ for all industries as well as the requirements of ASME B73.1.

Sulzer states that the pumps are designed to be suitable in a variety of industrial applications, including hydrocarbon processing, the chemical processing industry, oil and gas, and water and wastewater. The pumps are suitable for use with either clean or slightly contaminated liquids, viscous fluids of up to 3,000 cSt, and fibrous slurries with a consistency of up to 6%.

To improve the pump’s reliability, Sulzer has worked to optimise the shaft seal with a new shaft sealing chamber and patent pending impeller. According to Sulzer, dry running of the single mechanical seal is eliminated for the entire pump’s operating range.

“We are eager to offer our new CPE pump range to our customers, because it fits a wide range of industrial applications and will reduce operating costs,” said Joe Salah, sales manager at Sulzer Pump Solutions.
