CDR Pumps offers portable fluid handling solution

UK pump manufacturer CDR Pumps has developed a Mobile Pumping Station, specifically designed for hazardous and toxic fluid handling.

Many chemical facilities use industrial bulk containers (IBCs) to store and transport a range of fluid types, including those that are flammable, oxidising, toxic, corrosive or harmful to the environment.

The filling and discharging of IBCs is a high-risk activity, which can result in leaks and spills of the fluids themselves or harmful emissions.

Regular fluid handling solutions do not always best meet the needs of the site, as pumps are often mounted on baseplates and part of a rigid structure, which led CDR Pumps to develop the Mobile Pumping Station.

The station uses a small STN magnetically driven centrifugal pump, which is manufactured from either polypropylene or PVDF. It can also be manufactured with a one-inch air-operated double diaphragm pump in polypropylene, with male cam-lock connections fitted as standard.

The system is mounted in a light but heavy duty carry case for ease of movement. It is supplied in 110V as standard, however a 240V unit can be manufactured on request. The unit is controlled with a simple stop/start switch integrated into the carry case.

The Mobile Pumping Station will be on show at the CHEMUK event in Harrogate, Yorkshire from 2-3 May at CDR Pumps’ stand K21.
