Flexitallic to showcase chemical industry training courses at CHEMUK

Gasket and sealing solutions provider Flexitallic UK will showcase its range of industrial gaskets and sealing solutions, as well as accredited training courses designed for the chemical industry, at the CHEMUK supply chain expo in Harrogate, Yorkshire in May.

Flexitallic will display a collection of its sealing technology that has been proven in the chemical and process industries, including SIGMA® materials, which are predominately used in the chemical sector and the Change™ gasket.

SIGMA has been developed for processes including cryogenic temperatures up to 260°C and is suitable for sealing the vast majority of chemical medium across the entire pH range. Containing non-stick properties that aid in an easy removal process after their usage to reduce downtime during shutdowns, the range of materials pair the chemical resistance of PTFE with enhanced dimensional stability to provide a secure seal.

Change is a highly-resilient metal-wound gasket, designed to deliver dynamic static sealing technology. Proven to perform 60% longer than other gaskets, it has significant recovery capabilities, without comprising tightness, which is essential in high temperature applications. This is achieved through the application of a unique metal spiral profile.

Flexitallic Group member the Academy of Joint Integrity will also be attending the event. The academy provides bespoke and competency training for technicians and engineers working on the installation and maintenance of bolted joint connections and managing Loss of Containment issues on COMAH [Control of Major Accident Hazards] facilities.

The academy will also be demonstrating its new Joint Integrity Management Software (JIMS) alongside its partner software developer, Elisian, which supports safe process site maintenance operations.

“Flexitallic is really pleased to be part of the inaugural CHEMUK event, which will support our continued strategy to build our presence in the chemical and process sectors,” said Gary Milnes, academy training director.

“Flexitallic and the Academy of Joint Integrity are very active in the industry and being part of this event will enable us to develop new and existing relationships and we look forward to meeting delegates at the event.”
