Xylem unveils new blower for wastewater treatment facilities

Water technology company Xylem has revealed a new direct drive turbo blower for lower airflow requirements at wastewater treatment facilities.

The new addition to the company’s Sanitaire turbo blower range was launched at Pollutec Event in Lyon, France. According to a company statement, the Sanitaire TurboLIGHT direct drive turbo blower is a compact adaptation of the company’s TurboMAX blower, and is suitable for lower airflow requirements at wastewater treatment facilities.

“By adding this range of compact high-efficiency blowers to our portfolio, we can cater for customers managing smaller applications who are keen to save money on energy and operating costs,” said Business Development manager at Xylem, Magnus Spens.

“Suitable for lower airflow requirements, the compact Sanitaire TurboLIGHT comes equipped with advanced centrifugal technology to offer unparalleled efficiency at a cost-effective price point – providing faster pay back on investment than most blower technologies on the market.”

According to Xylem, the Sanitaire TurboLIGHT turbo blowers are suitable for use in smaller municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. The blowers range from 7.5-37kw and provide flowrates of 300-2,700 cubic metres per hour, per blower, which can satisfy oxygen demands for plants of 2,000 -70,000 person equivalent.

The new product is available in Europe and the Middle East starting this month.
