Acquisition paves way into Australian market for Axflow

AxFlow, a European-based fluid handling solutions firm, has acquired Australian ‘market-leading’ centrifugal pumps producer Browns Brothers/Kelair.

Browns Brothers/Kelair operates throughout 15 locations across Australia and New Zealand.

After AxFlow’s acquisition of South-African pumps distributor AQS Industries, this acquisition marks the next stepping stone in AxFlow’s intentions to expand globally.

CEO of Axflow Ole Weiner stated, “The acquisition gives AxFlow great opportunities for sales growth in Australia and New Zealand, as well as a strong platform for growth in Oceania.”

Browns Brothers Engineers, established in 1908 in New Zealand, sells centrifugal and positive displacement pumps to users and resellers in industrial sectors and utility pumps to those in the agricultural and municipal sectors.

In 1908, the company became a member of Mace Group and in 2004 it acquired Sydney-based pump supplier Kelair. The Mace Group is headed by its Chairman, Ted Mace.

“I am glad to hand over the ownership to AxFlow, with its long-term ownership view and strong values,” said Mace.

“It will present new opportunities for the group and its employees and be a reliable partner for our customers for many years to come.”
