Titan produces technical paper on specifying liquid flowmeters

Flowmeter specialist Titan Enterprises has produced a technical paper titled How to specify liquid flowmeters.

The eight page technical paper looks closely at different styles of flowmeter – (differential, pressure, turbine, propeller, positive displacement, vortex, ultrasonic and mass flow measurements), discussing their ease of application, limitations and other constraints.

The technical paper includes a selection guide that takes 13 applications and charts each of them against 14 different types of flowmeter, highlighting the ‘good, the bad, and the questionable’ flow measurement techniques for each application.

According to a statement form Titan, the optimal liquid flowmeter for an application varies considerably. This is affected by a wide range of operational parameters including pipe bore, flow path, liquid viscosity, particulate levels, measurement accuracy, measurement dynamic range, maintenance and target purchase price.

Titan Enterprises is a manufacturer of a broad range of flowmetering solutions, including the Atrato ultrasonic flowmeter, Oval Gear flowmeters, low turbine flowmeters and a flow instrument range. The company has over 40 years of experience in the flowmeter industry.
