Sulzer awarded GE Power India contract

Sulzer India has been contracted to supply twenty-one barrel-type boiler feed pump sets for GE Power India. The pumps are being sent to three new thermal power plants in the north of the country. The delivery is scheduled from mid-2018 to mid-2019.

The 20MW barrel-type boiler feed pumps will be supplied with twenty-one booster pumps. The Swiss company says that the pumps are designed for use in difficult industrial applications and are optimised for high-efficiency operations.

All pump sets will be engineered, assembled, and packaged in India.

Sulzer says that it is investing in employees and sites in India, setting up a new 8MW test bed in Mumbai.
