Graco adds new electric pump to its Husky range

The Husky 2150e can save time and space when compared with air-operated pumps, Graco also claims that it’s five times as efficient. The company says that it’s suited to applications that need low pulsation and a smooth flow.

The pump has a 2 inch (50.8mm) connection, is available in multiple materials and can transfer up to 530 litres per minute and move solids up to 6.3mm in diameter.

It’s part of the e-Series line of products, which boast the benefits of an air operated diaphragm pump, like self-priming and stalling under pressure, along with the benefits of an electric pump in the energy cost savings, reduced pulsation and increased pump control. Pulsation is reduced through a patented air charged drive, removing the need for expensive pulsation dampeners or surge tanks.

Graco hopes the pump will excel in settings like shipping, where space is scarce. The 2150e houses its compressors on the body of the pump, saving space, and as it is electric there is no need to install additional air supply pipework. Using a combination of two pumps can ensure the continuity of the process against any obstacles, according to the company. Graco said in a statement that a Dutch shipping company has already ordered two sets of the 2150e for use on its tankers.
