New product: Intertek PipeAware

22 January, the company announced a new solution to improve access to pipeline integrity data by combining ‘traceability’ and pipe inspection into one task, allowing for a more transparent manufacturing process. It also enables near real-time viewing of pipeline and supply chain data.

According to the company website, PipeAware has features including: cloud based digital records, specification validation to check for missing or out-of-spec data for compliance and stock inspection

The product is designed to help operators ensure that pipelines comply with relevant regulations and standards throughout the manufacturing, construction and operation phases by replacing paper-based tracking.

PipeAware will first be available in North America. The company said that it was produced as a reaction to increased legislation concerning pipelines and a growing industry.

Intertek describes itself as a global ‘total quality assurance provider’.
