Fluid Handling talked to Christophe Valdenaire from Saint-Gobain Sealsabout developing seal guidelines for valves, combatting fugitive emissionsand the future of the company.

In 2017 Saint-Gobain Seals developed selection guidelines for whatthe company describes as a ‘major United States oil and gas enduser customer’. The guidelines cover polymer lip seals for oil and gasAPI 6D isolation valves. The end use customer wanted to improveawareness about the importance of seals as critical parts in extremeservice operations.

The resulting document was distributed throughout the client’smain operations and, according to Saint-Gobain Seals, ‘is currently aviable solution to their ongoing challenges relating to logistics, safetyand costs, contributing in their global effort to improve operationalexcellence.’
