New solids management system for centrifugal pumps by Gorman-Rupp

Gorman-Rupp (GR), a Mansfield, Ohio-based pump manufacturer, has rolled out a new Eradicator solids management system for its Super T Series line of self-priming centrifugal pumps.

GR says the Eradicator was developed for demanding applications, including solids-laden wastewater and slurries, to improve system uptime and to decrease the number of service calls and overall maintenance costs.

The system consists of a new, patented lightweight inspection cover, a back cover plate incorporating an obstruction-free flow path, and an aggressive self-cleaning wear plate including laser cut notches and grooves, along with a tooth designed to clear material from the eye of the impeller.

The Eradicator is capable of handling solids-laden wastewater containing, among others, sanitary wipes, plastic bags, feathers, hair, sludge, and other clog prone material.

For new pump applications, complete pump units are available in GR hard iron and cast iron materials.

Eradicator upgrade kits are available for existing Super T Series installations and will include all components needed for conversion in the field.
