New centrifugal magnetic drive pump from Tapflo

Tapflo has introduced the largest pump so far in their range of centrifugal magnetic drive pumps, the CTM 32 – 12,5.

The CTM pumps are designed and manufactured for chemical transfer and circulation surface treatment industries.

The newest addition to the CTM range is a close coupled compact pump intended for service in tight spaces, such as those found in OEM installations.

The pump is suitable for chemically corrosive and toxic liquids, as well as for clean and thin liquids – such as pure chemicals, acids and alkalis – due to wetted components being manufactured from non-metallic injection-moulded, corrosion-resistant thermoplastics.

Tapflo is releasing two versions of the new pump, one manufactured from PP-GF (glass fibre reinforced polypropylene), which provides greater mechanical strength and allows liquid temperatures up to 70°C, and another from PVDF (PolyVinylidene DiFluoride), providing superior chemical resistance and allowing temperatures up to 80°C.

According to the manufacturer, the pumps are leakage-safe and environmentally friendly with a high degree of operational efficiency and no product waste.

The pump's magnetic design removes mechanical seal problems and increases its safety when handling hazardous fluids, while its hermetic system eliminates poisonous or dangerous vapours.

Mikolaj Laguna-Horodniczy from Tapflo Marketing explains the new CTM pumps do not feature a shaft, which sets them apart from most pumps by other providers.

'The impeller magnet assembly is designed with very powerful bushings where a conventional crack sensitive shaft is not needed,' Laguna-Horodniczy says.

Tapflo CTM pumps are fitted with magnet couplings with NdFeB (Neodymium-iron-boron) magnets, which are encase in a cage within a system that avoids the use of resins and glue, thus granting safe operational performance at high temperatures.
