Metso to supply valve tech to UAE refinery complex

Metso is to supply its valve technology to the Abu Dhabi Oil Refinery Co. (TAKREER) for installation in a carbon black and coker plant at the company's chemical refining complex in the UAE.

The delayed plant is now under construction and will be ready in December 2015 if everything goes to plan. Once completed, the plant will process 30,000 bpd of crude oil and have an annual production capacity of 40,000 tonnes of carbon black.

Hundreds of Metso's Globe Control and on-off valves will be used for the project. Most of the control valves will be equipped with Neles ND9000 intelligent valve controllers to improve process efficiency and uptime.
