Kalrez seals now dual certified

O-ring seals from DuPont Kalrez have been certified under Total GS EP PVV 142 – the industry standard for sealing products supplied for use with piping, valves and vessels.

The Kalrez 0090 perfluoroelastomer seals, available from sealing company Dichtomatik, provide resistance to rapid gas decompression (RGD), in addition to chemical resistance for use within harsh industrial environments. They have already achieved the NORSOK M-710 certification, which relates specifically to 'downhole' applications such as the oil and gas sectors.

The O-ring seals gained 0000 rating, demonstrating compliance with the specifications of 'no cracks or blisters visible on the O-ring's cross section after the test'.

In addition to this achievement, critical parts of the seals provide chemical resistance to withstand attack from more than 1,800 chemical substances.

The product range also offers temperature compatibility up to 250°C; tests have shown that the sealing properties can be maintained down to -21°C. Under pressurised sealing conditions, the products have demonstrated a low temperature performance down to -40°C in laboratory tests.
