WEFTEC 2017 Preview: Atlas Copco

Ahead of WEFTEC 2017 (30 September – 4 October at McCormick Place in Chicago), Fluid Handling International presents an introduction to Atlas Copco Compressors, who’ll be exhibiting at Booth #2202

Who is Atlas Copco?

Atlas Copco is a major provider of sustainable productivity solutions. The group serves customers with compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, and has a global reach spanning more than 180 countries.

Atlas Copco Compressors is part of the Group’s Compressor Technique business area, with its headquarters located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The company manufactures, markets and services oil-free and oil-injected stationary air compressors, air treatment equipment and air management systems, including local manufacturing of select products.

At WEFTEC 2017, Atlas Copco Compressors will be displaying their ZS and ZB blowers, as well as cutaway models of their ZM and ZL blowers.

The ZB VSD is an oil-free centrifugal air blower built with Variable Speed Drive technology. The 100% oil-free centrifugal technology safeguards end product by preventing oil from contaminating production. With its centrifugal frictionless direct drive, the ZB blower helps users reduce costs while producing a high level of air volume for low pressure applications like fermentation and wastewaster treatment. The blower’s integrated VSD technology automatically tunes output to the precise air demand so no energy is wasted.

Also built with VSD technology is Atlas Copco’s ZS VSD oil-free screw blower, which the company claims save users an average of 30% in energy costs when compared to conventional lobe blowers. ZS VSD blowers are delivered as an all-in-one package with a complete set of supplies to reduce installation times and cost. The blowers can be connected to the Elektronikon controller system to enable remote monitoring for access to machine data around the clock.

Atlas Copco will also be hosting a hospitality event at WEFTEC 2017, from 3pm to 6pm on 3 October. This will give attendees a chance to meet Atlas Copco’s product experts, as well as enjoy drinks and appetisers.

On 30 September the water industry will head to Chicago, Illinois’ McCormick Place for WEFTEC 2017.

The US’ Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) has grown into a world leading event for developments in water quality, research, solutions, knowledge development and cutting edge technologies. With thousands of water and wastewater professionals attending from around the world, WEFTEC 2017 will host a programme of technical sessions and workshops alongside an exhibition of some of the biggest companies involved in water and wastewater.

In the run up to the event, Fluid Handling International will be profiling some of the major exhibitors, and the products they’ll be showcasing.
