Atlas Copco acquires US pump and compressor distributor

Swedish company Atlas Copco has acquired the operating assets of C.H. Spencer & Company, a US distributor and service provider of industrial pumps, compressors and related products.

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, C.H. Spencer also operates in the states of Nevada, Wyoming and Idaho. The company focuses on the distribution and service of compressors, industrial pumps and related systems for use in applications such as mining, municipal water treatment and general industry.

Atlas Copco is a major provider of sustainable productivity solutions. The Group provides customers with innovative compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems. The company has around 45,000 employees, and spans across 180 countries.

The price of the acquisition has not been disclosed, but according to an Atlas Copco press release: “The purchase price is not material relative to Atlas Copco’s market capitalisation and is not disclosed. The acquired business becomes part of Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area.”

Around 40 employees from C.H. Spencer will be joining Atlas Copco.
