Thompson Pump to move to new headquarters in Florida

Thompson Pump & Manufacturing, a US pump maker, is planning to move its headquarters to a new location in Port Orange, Florida.

According to media reports in the Daytona Beach News Journal, the hydraulic pump maker will move next to a retail hub called The Pavilion in Port Orange.

The city announced Monday (13 March, 2017) it had closed on the sale of 15 acres off Williamson Boulevard to the hydraulic pump maker for $1 million.

According to the media report, city leaders had already approved the sale of the parcel last May. The closing was 2 March, 2017. When the property is fully developed, Thompson Pump's new U.S. headquarters will be neighbors with Raydon Corp. and US Foods and will add to the industrial stretch of Williamson Boulevard, just south of Hockney Court and north of the retail hub at The Pavilion at Port Orange.

The company generates about $45 million (€42m) in annual sales and makes about 1,500 dewatering and bypass engine-powered pumps a year, the Daytona report maintained.

It plans to build between two and three buildings on the site, according to city documents.
