Desmi sets up pump and oil spill equipment facility in India
Denmark-based pump manufacturer Desmi has set up its first production facility in India at Adibatla near Hyderabad.
The 3,000m2 unit located at Nadergul village will start with production of booms for oil spill response, besides equipment.
With the facility in place, Desmi will focus on producing oil spill response equipment, assemble pumps, and pumping solutions locally.
By second quarter of 2017, the assembly centre will be ready for pumps and pumping solutions manufacture.
The State’s industrial policy and the presence of pharma industry in Hyderabad made Desmi opt the location for its unit.
Desmi caters to marine, offshore, oil spill response, defence, and utility segments globally.
The company, founded in 1834, supplies its products and solutions to over 100 countries.
