Evoqua selected to supply membranes for Australian water purification plant upgrade

Evoqua Water Technologies has been selected by Townsville City Council to replace the membrane system for the water purification plant at Cleveland Bay in Australia.

The original membrane bioreactor (MBR) plant, based on a different supplier’s membrane, has been in operation for eight years.

Evoqua’s Memcor MBR line features a proven immersed hollow fibre membrane system that performs a critical role within the upgraded plant and increases the plant’s hydraulic performance.

The upgraded plant will be the largest MBR facility in Australia.

The project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government and the Townsville City Council.

Evoqua has more than 30 years of experience with high performance membrane filtration technologies through its Memcor family of products.
