Arca Regler delivers anti-surge valves to China’s largest LNG tanker

In mid-2016, China’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Pan Asia undocked in Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in Shanghai, China.

Pan Asia is the first tanker for Pan Union LNG project and, with a capacity of 174,000m3, it is expected to bring China 1.5 million tonnes/year of clean energy.

Integration of dual fuel electric propulsion technology and a re-liquefaction plant is the first application of its kind in a large LNG tanker.

Arca Regler contributed to the re-liquefaction system on the LNG tanker by providing the necessary compressor anti-surge valves.

Arca intially delivered four valves to be installed with the compressor on the tanker, followed by the second and third batches of anti-surge valves.

The tanker will be tested between January and March 2017 and will then start operation transporting LNG produced in Queensland, Australia, to China.
